The Difference In Restaurants

2

John, 4, didn't usually behave well in restaurants. But when they took him to a boarding house restaurant with religious pictures and old plates everywhere, John sat up straight in his chair, had perfect manners, in short, he was a little angel.

After the meal, when she was buckling him into his carseat, his mother asked, "Did you like Hopkins' House?"

He replied, "What is Hopkins' House?"

"You know, the restaurant where we just ate."

"That wasn't Hopkins' House," John said, "that was Jesus' House!"

Astonished, his mother asked, "John, what makes you think that was Jesus' house?"

He looked at his mother as though he couldn't believe she would miss the clues and said;

"HIS MOM HAD PICTURES OF HIM ALL OVER THAT HOUSE!"

That story is from John's mother,
Dot Sims of Pensacola, Fla.

What God Looks Like

0
A little girl became a big sister and continually wanted to spend time alone with the new baby.

The mother was uneasy to leave the youngster alone with the newborn but the youngster persisted. Finally the mom told the little girl she could go into the baby's room alone.

Standing outside the room, the mother was able to hear her youngster talking to the baby in the crib, "Tell me what God looks like, I am starting to forget."

Moms Pumpkin Soup 1st Anniversary

OMG!! I was not aware that Moms Pumpkin Soup has marked its one-year anniversary! Moms Pumpkin Soup had a skin and layout change early this week, which I did purely because I thought I will give this blog a brighter and more attractive exterior. Not for any other reasons. But now, I realize that 'something' inside me encouraged me to do those changes and it’s for a reason, for Moms Pumpkin Soup 1st Anniversary!! ;)

Well, it’s actually on 1 February 2008 when I first created a new and my first blog in my life, wrote my first post with title "Never regret a day in your life".

Good days give you happiness;
Bad days give you experiences;
Both are essential to life.

A lot of new experiences I have been learning from these wonderful quotes that I read and posted, they inspired me so much during my good and bad days. Yes, they are absolutely essential parts to my life…

This site has honestly been an absolute delight to write and made more so by you guys, thanks to all of the busy people who have viewed and taken the time to browse this blog, especially those who leave comments (come on you lurkers - why not say hi!).

Thanks a lot everyone!

I've learned....
that love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned....
that the easiest way for me to grow as a person is
to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned....
that I always think of the right thing to say when it's too late.

I've learned....
that no matter what their ages or how far away they may be,
you never stop wanting to keep a protective arm
around your children.

I've learned....
to gather all the crumbs thrown my way.
They soon form a lovely, thick slice of life and memories.

I've learned....
that under everyone's hard shell is
someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned....
never to humiliate another person.
Always give him an honorable way to back down or out of something and still save face.

I've learned....
that if you are still talking about what you did yesterday,
you haven't done much today.

I've learned....
that to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned....
that when you plan to get even with someone,
you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

Walking on Water

0

A mother was watching her four-year-old child playing outside in a small plastic pool half filled with water.

He was happily walking back and forth across the pool, making big splashes. Suddenly, he stopped, stepped out of the pool, and began to scoop water out of the pool with a pail.

"Why are you pouring the water out, Jimmy?" the mother asked.

"Cause my teacher said Jesus walked on water, and this water won't work." The boy replied.

I've learned....
that sometimes all a person needs is a hand
to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned....
that when my spouse has failed to fulfill my needs,
it's highly likely I've also neglected hers.

I've learned....
that life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned....
that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned....
that once a relationship is over,
if you experienced more smiles than tears,
then it wasn't a waste of time.

I've learned....
that being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned....
that I need to let my friends comfort me and hold me up,
to let them know I need support,
that I'm not always as strong as I look or act.

I've learned....
that when I'm waiting to see my doctor,
I always wish I had stuck to my diet.

I've learned....
that I can always pray for someone
when I don't have the strength to help him
in some other way.

I've learned....
that no matter how serious your life requires you to be,
everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
