Reasons Not to be Six Again

0

4kids

I get to select when, what and where I want to eat.

I still skip rocks on the water and I can play in a mud puddle and not get in trouble.

I can buy all the M&M's I want.

I love to watch my kids enjoy Christmas.

I can have a snack whenever I want, join the YMCA and go on vacations.

I appreciate being happy because I know what it feels like to be unhappy.

I'm glad I am an honest and good person and set an example.

I am glad I am aware of nuclear weapons, prejudice, starving, abused kids, and other bad things--I can work at fixing these things.

I can appreciate the concept of death because I have lived a long time.

I am glad that I know which things are important and which are not.

I know there are more things to life than television.

There are still so many firsts left to get excited about.

I have the power to make people happy.

I still enjoy that walk down the beach.

I enjoy riding my bike with my children and enjoy watching that first tooth come in and come out.

I've accomplished a lot in my life and can appreciate it.

When I'm having a hard day, I appreciate the good days even more.

No, I'd never want to be six years old again.

If A Dog Were Your Teacher

You would learn important things like:

* When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

* Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

* Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

* When it's in your best interest -- practice obedience.

* Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

* Take naps and stretch before rising.

* Run, romp, and play daily.

godblessdog

* Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

* Avoid biting, when a simple growl will do.

* On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

* On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.

* When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

* No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout... run right back and make friends.

* Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

* Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.

* Be loyal.

* Never pretend to be something you're not.

* If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

* When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

Johnny had been misbehaving and was sent to his room. After a while he emerged and informed his mother that he had thought it over and then said a prayer. "Fine," said the pleased mother. "If you ask God to help you not misbehave, He will help you." "Oh, I didn't ask Him to help me not misbehave," said Johnny. "I asked Him to help you put up with me."

A woman invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to her six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?" I wouldn't know what to say," the little girl replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say, " the mother said. The little girl bowed her head and said, "Dear Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"

All I needed To Know About Life I Learned From The Easter Bunny

  • Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.
  • Walk softly and carry a big carrot.
  • Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
  • There's no such thing as too much candy.
  • Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.
  • Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.
  • Some body parts should be floppy.
  • Keep your paws off other people's jellybeans.
  • Good things come in small sugar-coated packages.
  • The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.
  • An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare.
  • To show your true colors you have to come out of your shell.
  • The best things in life are still sweet and gooey

Easter Dress

It was that time during the Sunday morning service for "the Children's Sermon". All the children were invited to come forward and one little girl was wearing a particularly pretty
dress. As she sat down, the Pastor leaned over and said to her, "That is a very pretty dress. Is it your Easter dress?"

The little girl replied, directly into the pastor's clip-on microphone, "Yes, and my Mom says it's a real pain to iron.

The Jelly Bean Prayer

0

* RED *
is for the blood He gave.

* GREEN *
is for the grass He made.

* YELLOW *
is for the sun so bright.

* ORANGE *
is for the edge of night.

* BLACK *
is for the sins we made.

* WHITE *
is for the grace He gave.

* PURPLE *
is for His hour of sorrow.

* PINK *
is for our new tomorrow.

A bag full of jelly beans
colorful and sweet,
Is a prayer, is a promise,
is a very special treat.

An Easter Thought

Whatever is lovely to you, your heart has made it so...

Whatever is sacred to you, your spirit has made it so..

For a loving heart and spirit, create their own world of beauty and peace.

A five-year-old said grace at family dinner one night. "Dear God, thank you for these pancakes." When he concluded, his parents asked him why he thanked God for pancakes when they were having chicken. He smiled and said, "I thought I'd see if He was paying attention tonight."

One night Mike's parents overheard this prayer. "Now I lay me down to rest, and
hope to pass tomorrow's test, if I should die before I wake, that's one less test I have to take.

During the minister's prayer one Sunday, there was a loud whistle from one of
the back pews. Gary's mother was horrified. She pinched him into silence, and
after church, asked: "Gary, whatever made you do such a thing?" Gary answered
soberly: "I asked God to teach me to whistle... And He just then did!"

A daddy was listening to his child start his prayer with "Dear Harold". At this, dad interrupted and said, "Wait a minute, How come you called God, "Harold"? The little boy looked up and said, "That's what they call Him in church. You know the prayer we say, "Our Father, who art in Heaven, Harold be Thy name."

And this particular four-year-old prayed: "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."

One Sunday in a Midwest city a young child was "acting up" during the morning
worship hour. The parents did their best to maintain some sense of order in the
pew but were losing the battle. Finally the father picked the little fellow up
and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out. Just before reaching the safety
of the foyer the little one called loudly to the congregation, "Pray for me!
Pray for me!"

Friends

0
Friends, you and me,
you brought another friend,
and then there were 3,
we started our group.

Our circle of friends,
and like that circle,
there is no beginning or end.

Learn from Others

Learn from the mistakes of others.

You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

True friends

Many people will walk in and out of your life,

but only true friends

will leave footprints in your heart.

If Tomorrow Never Comes

0
If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two
to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance to make everything right.

There will always be another day to say our "I love you's," and certainly
there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's?"

But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike.
So, if you're waiting
for tomorrow, why not do it today?

For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely
regret the day
that you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a
kiss,
and you were too busy to grant someone what turned out
to be their one
last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear,
tell them how
much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear.
Take time to say,
"I'm sorry," "please forgive me," "thank you," or "it's okay."

And if
tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

What I Have Learned - END

0
I've learned....
that it is best to give advice in only two circumstances;
when it is requested
and when it is a life-threatening situation.

I've learned....
that a good friend is the one who tells you
how you really look in your jeans.

I've learned....
that the less time I have to work with,
the more things I get done.

What I Have Learned - 9

0
I've learned....
that nobody wants to know what you're doing
until you're doing something that
you don't want anyone to know.

I've learned....
that those who reach their goals too easily
have aimed too low.

I've learned....
that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain,
but all the happiness
and growth occurs
while you're climbing it.

I've learned....
that when packing for a vacation,
you
should take half as many clothes as you think you will need
and twice as much
money.
Your clothes and money should
run out about the same time!

I've learned....
that stain resistant carpet will stain.

What I Have Learned - 8

0

I've learned....
that it is just as wrong to be rude to a child as to an adult.
In fact, it may
be more unforgivable.

I've learned....
that one should keep his words both soft and tender,
because tomorrow
he may have to eat them.

I've learned....
that a smile is an inexpensive way
to
improve your looks.

I've learned....
that I can't choose how I feel,
but I
can choose what I do about it.

I've learned....
that a peacock today may be a feather duster tomorrow.

What I Have Learned - 7

0
I've learned....
that the kind of adults my children are now
is directly related to the kind
of children
I continually told them
they were.

I've learned....
that everyone you meet
deserves to
be greeted with a smile.

I've learned....
that no one is perfect
until you fall
in love with them.

I've learned....
that opportunities are never lost;
someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned....
that when you harbor bitterness,
happiness will dock elsewhere.

What I Have Learned - 6

0
I've learned....
that love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned....
that the easiest way for me to grow as a person
is to surround myself with
people smarter than I am.

I've learned....
that I always think of the right thing
to say when it's too late.

I've learned....
that no matter what their ages
or how
far away they may be,
you never stop
wanting to keep
a protective arm
around your children.

I've learned....
to gather all the crumbs thrown my way.
They soon form a lovely,
thick slice
of life and memories.

What I Have Learned - 5

0
I've learned....
that under everyone's hard shell is

someone who wants to be appreciated
and loved.

I've learned....

never to humiliate another person.

Always give him an honorable way to
back down
or out of something and
still save face.

I've learned....

that if you are still talking about
what you did yesterday,
you haven't
done much today.

I've learned....

that to ignore the facts
does not
change the facts.

I've learned....

that when you plan to get even with
someone,
you are only letting that
person continue to hurt you.

What I Have Learned - 4

0

I've learned....
that sometimes all a person needs is a
hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned....

that when my spouse has failed to
fulfill my needs,
it's highly likely
I've also neglected hers.

I've learned....

that life is like a roll of toilet paper.

The closer it gets to the end, the
faster it goes.

I've learned....

that it's those small daily happenings

that make life so spectacular.

I've learned....

that once a relationship is over,

if you experienced more smiles than
tears,
then it wasn't a waste of time.

What I Have Learned - 3

0

I've learned....
that being kind is more important than
being right.

I've learned....

that I need to let my friends comfort
me and hold me up,
to let them know I need
support,
that I'm not always as strong
as I look or act.

I've learned....

that when I'm waiting to see my doctor,

I always wish I had stuck to my diet.

I've learned....

that I can always pray for someone when
I don't have the strength
to help him
in some other way.

I've learned....

that no matter how serious your life
requires you to be,
everyone needs a
friend to act goofy with.
